A bit of backstory…
I was born and raised in Illinois, in suburbs about an hour north of Chicago. In 2019, I graduated from the University of Iowa with a double major in English - Creative Writing and Cinematic Studies. I enjoy video games, CrossFit, metal music, singing along to metal music, and of course, writing.
I loved writing since my childhood, and I decided that’s what I wanted to do as my career before I even entered high school. It was in high school that I published my first novel, science-fiction war story Alteration, and since then I’ve branched out from medium to medium, from screenplays to playwriting to music and everything in between. But my truest love will always be gaming. If I’m not playing games, I’m either editing and producing YouTube videos about games, or pursuing career opportunities to write for games, my ultimate dream.
My tagline is a representation of my ethos. Dream loud, as loud as you can, create to your heart’s content! But scream even louder! The great joy of writing is sharing your creations with others and leaving your mark! And that’s what this site is, more or less: a directory for my creations (or my ‘screams,’ if you want to put it like that). Feel free to have a look around. Say ‘hi’ through the social links below. And welcome to my site! Hope your stay is pleasant!
Writer
Of course, my primary area of creative endeavor is writing. I’ve written novels, plays, screenplays, poems, short stories, lyrics, many of which is available to read here on this site! The essence of writing is revision, and my process revolves around rapidly and carefully iterating on drafts until they have that sparkly shine. My primary focus these days is Alteration: Pure, sequel to the 2015 non-subtitled original, this time taking the perspective of Kelly, little sister to the first book’s main character.
Video Producer
Over the years, I’ve gained experience producing and editing videos to publish on my YouTube page. Early on, I created walkthroughs to help players find collectibles and secrets and music videos for some of my favorite games. Around 2017, I broke from that trend and transitioned to reviewing and criticizing recently released games and music. My contemporary style pushes even further with deeper analysis and more cutting criticism across much longer videos, each designed to spark conversation and keep discussion around major titles from black and white mudslinging.
